সিনেমাহল থেকে বের হয়ে দেখি আমার ছাত্রী একটা ছেলের সাথে হাত ধরাধরি করে বের হচ্ছে। আমাকে দেখে আমার ছাত্রী চমকে গেলো। আমি কিছু না বলে চুপচাপ ওদের সামনে থেকে চলে গেলাম। 

  পরেরদিন যখন আমি আমার ছাত্রীকে পড়াতে যায় তখন ছাত্রীর বাবা আমার শার্টের কলার ধরে বলেছিলো, আমার এত সাহস কি করে হলো তার মেয়ের শরীরে হাত দেওয়ার আর বাজে ই/ঙ্গি/ত দেওয়ার.. 

  আমি অবাক হয়ে ছাত্রীর বাবার কাছে জানতে চেয়েছিলাম আমার নামে এই নোং/রা কথাটা কে বললো.

 ছাত্রীর বাবা আমার ডানগালে থাপ্পড় মে/রে বলেছিলো, এই কথাটা না কি আমার ছাত্রী নিজেই বলেছে।  

  ছাত্রীর বাসা থেকে বের হয়ে চিন্তা করতে লাগলাম, শহরের মেয়েরা স্মার্ট হয় কিন্তু এতটা স্মার্ট হয় জানতাম না। আমার অপরাধ ছিলো আমি আমার ছাত্রীকে বয়ফ্রেন্ড সহ সামনাসামনি দেখে ফেলেছিলাম। তাই আমার ছাত্রী আমার নামে তার বাবা মার কাছে

নোং/রা একটা জিনিস বানিয়ে বললো যাতে ওর বাবা মা আমাকে ভুল বুঝে। আর আমি কিছু বললেও যেন বিশ্বাস না করে...

   তার কয়েকমাস পর ইন্টারনেটে ৮ মিনিটের একটা ভি/ডি/ও ভাইরাল হয়। ভিডিওটা আমার ছাত্রী ও তার বয়ফ্রেন্ডের। আমি তখন আকাশের দিকে তাকিয়ে শুধু মুচকি একটা হাসি দিলাম...

  আমি যে মেসে থাকি সেই মেসে আমি বাদে সবাই স্মার্টফোন ব্যবহার করে। সহজ কথা বলতে গেলে আমি বাদে সবার পারিবারিক অবস্থা খুব ভালো।   মেসে আমার রুম মেটের ৪ হাজার টাকা হারিয়ে গেলো।  সবার ধারণা হলো আমি টাকাটা চুরি করেছি কারণ আমি সেদিন কমদামের একটা স্মার্টফোন কিনেছিলাম। পাশের রুমের এক বড় ভাই  তিনি জোর গলায় বললেন, উনি না কি নিজ চোখে দেখেছেন আমি আমার রুমমেট মামুনের ব্যাগে হাত দিয়েছি। আমি তখন কিছু বললাম না কারণ আমার কিছু বলার মত পরিস্থিতি ছিলো না।  বড় ভাইকে সবাই খুব মানতো আমি কিছু বললেও লাভ হতো না। আমি দোকানে গিয়ে দোকানদারের হাতে পায়ে ধরে ফোনটা ফেরত দিয়ে সেই টাকাটা আমার রুমমেটকে দিলাম।

  চোরের অপবাদ নিয়ে যে মেস থেকে ৫ মাস আগে বের হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম আজ সেই মেসে বড় ভাই আমাকে খবর দিয়ে নিয়ে এসেছে।  সবার সামনে বড়ভাই আমার হাত ধরে বললো, পিয়াস আমায় ক্ষমা করে দিস।  আমি সেদিন ইচ্ছে করে তকে চোর বানিয়েছিলাম।  আসলে সেদিন টাকাটা আমি চুরি করেছিলাম। 

  বড়ভাইয়ের ক্যা/ন্সা/র ধরা পড়েছে। তার মাঝে মৃত্যু ভয় ঢুকে গেছে।

আমি বড়ভাইয়ের দিকে তাকিয়ে শুধু মুচকি একটা হাসি দিলাম... 

  শ্রাবণী তার সামনে রাখা গ্লা/সটা আমার মুখে ছুড়ে মে/রে বললো, তোর মত ভিখারীর কি করে সাহস হয় আমাকে এইসব বলার? তুই ভালো ছাত্র ছিলি  দেখে তোর নোট পাওয়ার লোভে তোর সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করেছিলাম আর সেই তুই কি না আমাকে আজ প্রেমের প্রস্তাব দিস...

  সেই শ্রাবণীর খুব বড়লোক ছেলের সাথেই বিয়ে হয়েছিলো। কিন্তু বিয়ের ৩ বছর পর সে আজ আমার সামনে বসা। শ্রাবণী তার স্বামীর বিরুদ্ধে এক একটা নি/র্যা/তনের কথা বলছে আর আমি এস আই আবুল বাশার পিয়াস সুন্দর করে নোট করছি। 

  কথাবলার এক পর্যায়ে শ্রাবণী  আমায় বললো, সেদিন যদি তোর প্রস্তাবে রাজি হয়ে যেতাম তাহলে আমার কপালে আজ এত কষ্ট থাকতো না।

  আমি কিছু না বলে শুধু নিচের দিকে তাকিয়ে মুচকি একটা হাসি দিলাম। যে হাসির অর্থ হলো, কেউ তোমার উপর  অন্যায় করলে সে তার প্রতিদান পাবেই।

  আজ একটা কথা খুব মনে পড়ছে,

 দুনিয়াতে মানুষ মানুষকে ক্ষমা করে দিলেও প্রকৃতি কাউকে ক্ষমা করে না। প্রকৃতি সব হিসাব করে মানুষকে তা ফিরিয়ে দেয়...

I came out of the cinema and saw my student holding hands with a boy.  My student was shocked to see me.  I quietly left in front of them without saying anything.

   The next day when I went to teach my student, the student's father grabbed my shirt collar and said, how dare I put my hands on his daughter's body and make bad gestures..

   I was surprised and asked the student's father who said this dirty word in my name.

  The student's father slapped me on the cheek and said, "Didn't my student say this herself?"

   After leaving the student's house, I started thinking, city girls are smart, but I didn't know they were so smart.  My crime was that I saw my student face to face with her boyfriend.  So my student is in my name to her parents

 Nong/ra made up a thing so that her parents misunderstand me.  And even if I say something, don't believe it...

    A few months later, an 8-minute video went viral on the internet.  The video is of my student and her boyfriend.  I just looked at the sky and smiled...

   In the mess I live in, everyone uses smartphones except me.  To put it simply, except for me, everyone's family situation is very good.  4 thousand rupees of my room mate was lost in the mess.  Everyone thinks I stole the money because I bought a cheap smartphone that day.  An older brother from the next room said loudly, "Didn't he see with his own eyes that I touched my roommate Mamun's bag?"  I didn't say anything then because I was in no condition to say anything.  Everyone respected the elder brother very much, even if I said something, it would have been useless.  I went to the store and took the phone back from the shopkeeper and gave the money to my roommate.

   Today, the elder brother brought me to the mess that I left 5 months ago with the slander of the thief.  In front of everyone, elder brother held my hand and said, Piyas, forgive me.  I made you a thief that day.  Actually I stole the money that day.

   Elder brother has been diagnosed with cancer.  The fear of death entered him.

 I looked at my elder brother and just gave a small smile...

   She got married to a very big boy.  But after 3 years of marriage she is sitting in front of me today.  Shravani is talking about her husband one after the other and I am taking a good note of SI Abul Basha's piaas.
